Nexuiz is an FPS that aims to give you a blast from the past
Before Call of Duty and Battlefield 3, there were two games that revolutionized first person shooters. These games were Quake and Unreal Tournament. If you have ever played and love either of these games, a relatively new company IllFonic is sure to give you a blast from the past. The company, founded in 2007, is set to release their new arena first person shooter Nexuiz next month as a part of Microsoft’s XBLA House Party promotion. More info and screens after the break.

Gaming site True Achievements has new Nexuiz screenshots up and it's worth checking out to see what the Illfonic art team has been working on. Which of the pictured arenas are you looking forward to playing on the most?

Illfonic's Nexuiz is soon to be one of four titles included in this February's House Party promotion on Xbox LIVE. The first-person arena shooter has been re-made with the Crytek 3 engine specifically for consoles. Featuring a mutator system, players can change the rules of the game. Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag will be the two game modes included in the game at launch.

Hey Nexuiz, Aren't You a Little Pretty for an XBLA Shooter?
Quake mod Nexuiz (pronounced "nexus") is so heavily modified that it's practically it's own game. It has been for years, since 2005, with a modified Quake Engine, completely overhauled weapons, but the same fast-paced gameplay.
